2026-07-13 Chapter 413 Loyalty
Synopsis: Benjamin informs his private soldiers that special martial law will be declared. 15 minutes to go.
Huyricov’s words are probably true. If the goal were simply to kill Prince Benjamin, there would be no need for such an elaborate scheme, and a simple curse kill would be enough.
What I keep wondering about, though, is which princes Benjamin meant in Volume 39 when he thought at the 40-minute mark after the declaration of martial law that “four princes remain.” At this point, there are nine princes other than Benjamin that are recognized as alive. Of these, the princes under control and not considered threats are Prince Camilla and the three below Prince Fugetsu, leaving five after subtracting them. Those five are the Third Prince Zhang Lei through the Seventh Prince Luzurus. And since the Third and Seventh Princes are unaccounted for after the declaration, if they are included among the remaining princes, then the other two must be among the three from the Fourth Prince Tserriednich through the Sixth Prince Tyson. In other words, one of these three is already either dealt with or in a state where being dealt with is confirmed.
And this time, Benjamin makes it clear that he will handle the Second Prince and the Fourth Prince himself when he says, “Leave the Second Prince and the Fourth Prince to me.” Since almost an hour has passed since the declaration of martial law, it is hard to think he would leave them for later, so I suspect that Camilla, who is already detained, has been dealt with, and Tserriednich, who does not seem likely to be taken down easily in terms of either personality or ability, has also already been dealt with, or Benjamin is mistaken and thinks he has already been dealt with. In conclusion, I think the “four princes remaining” refers to the unaccounted-for Third Prince Zhang Lei and Seventh Prince Luzurus, along with the still-undealt-with Fifth Prince Tubeppa and Sixth Prince Tyson. I have zero confidence that I am right, though. This was one way to enjoy an ongoing story live as it unfolds.
